Canon’s Faxphone PL series

Canon will start selling this babies that has direct print capabilities from a digital camera. So you can leave out the PCs or laptops. Its a personal fax machine with built-in memory card slot and PictBridge compatibility, capable of direct printing to a maximum size of A4. The fax machine is an inkjet printer and uses Canon’s Pixus series inkjet cartridges.
Supported memory formats are CF, Microdrive, Smart Media (including 3.3v), Memorystick, Memorystick Pro, SD Memory Card, and MMC. Using an adapter, you can also use xD Picture card and miniSD. There’s also a built-in infrared receiver, and pictures can be directly printed via infrared from a cell phone using the Print Beam function.
Canon will start selling its new Faxphone PL series, with direct print capabilities from a digital camera, during the first part of August. There will be two different models to choose from and among those two models, two different packages for each model will be available.
Although Canon lists the items as open price, electronics retailers expect the 8.9 inch LCD panel versions to be priced accordingly: CF-PL95W, with two cordless handsets ¥70,000 and the CF-PL95, with one cordless handset ¥60,000. The 5.1 inch LCD panel versions are priced as follows: CF-PL90W, with two cordless handsets ¥58,000 and the CF-PL90, with one cordless handset is ¥50,000.
