PepperPad - Nokia 770 Wannabe Spotted
If you haven’t met the Nokia 770 , then you’ve been living in a cave. Now Ohgizmo even has a post on a Pepperpad (aka the Wireless Pad) from Pepper Computer. It comes with 802.11b Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IRda, 20GB Hard disk and a 8.4 inch color display with touch screen, this Nokia770 wannabe will be comfortable for people with large hands since its quite large too at 12.1″ x 6.6″ x 0.8″ (309×175x20mm).
Not much to say on this. I’ll get in some more reviews on it in the next few days. Pricing goes on at $849.99
Billed as a portable Internet Computer of sorts, it comes with Wifi, IR and Bluetooth, and all sorts of pretty chat clients and what not. Of course, I’m unclear as to what OS it’s running, exactly, but that’s probably because I don’t know how to read. (wait… I think I spotted Linux somewhere in there…) Weighing in at a rather noticeable 2.3 lbs, the pad packs an interesting mix of features, all of which will be nicely listed, inside.

Maybe I’m totally off-base here but how can the Pepper Pad be a Nokia 770 wannabe if it was announced long before the Nokia? ;)

Sean. You are right. I have my time line mixed up. Just wanted to make a point there. I guess the Nokia 770 sounded good at that time.

Ha, no worries. I work at Pepper but even I want a Nokia to check out and play/hack with. :)
