Gamepark GP2X-F100 Linux Game Device on Pre Order NOw
I highlighted this Linux gaming machine back in August 2005 and looks like users can now pre-order this gaming delight. I really like the specs on this baby and I hope the software side won’t let down the gamers as its supposed to run a variety of game emulators, including MAME, SNES, Genesis, and PC Engine.
The Linux-powered Gamepark GP2X-F100 Game Device can now be pre-ordered now from Lik-Sang and Play-Asia.com (aff link) for US$ 179.00
Stock should arrive Nov 30, 2005.
The new GPX2-F100 has dual ARM9 cores, according to Gamepark, along with 64MB of NAND Flash and 32MB of RAM. Its 3.5-inch QVGA (320×240) TFT LCD supports 170K colors. Hardware controls include a fourway controller on the right and a small thumb joystick on the left. Like the GP32, the GPX2-F100 is powered by two AA batteries. And while Gamepark claims 12 hours of battery life for the GP32, they say the new model lasts even longer — up to eight hours, when playing video, and up to 14 hours, when playing music with the LCD off.

A quote from a user from Lik-Sang.com
The GPX2x is made by Game Park Holdings not game park. Game Park Holdings is a group of gamepark employees who wanted the new game park handheld to be something different so they broke off from game park. Game Park on the other hand is developing a handheld supposed to compete with other handhelds such as the PSP and DS. XGP is the game park handheld. GP2X is handheld by game park holdings. Different consoles different companies.
