Krusell Black Leather Case for Dell Axim X50 with Swivel Belt Clip Review

When my wife bought the Dell Axim X50 a few weeks back, I felt it really needed a decent casing instead of the flimsy cloth bag that DELL gives you ( say cheap 5 times ). Nowadays electronic companies go hand in glove with accessory makers to squeeze every dime out of consumers. Just look at the iPod Nano fiasco recently.

With so many choices out there ( I counted 26 casings on one website ), you’ll be spoilt. You’ve got InnoPocket, Boxwave, Krusell, PDair, Brando, Rhino Skin, etc. Then Krusell Black Leather Case for Dell Axim X50 dropped into my mailbox back in early September 2005.

I opted to give Krusell’s cool Krusell Black Leather Case for Dell Axim X50/X50v with Swivel Belt Clip with Multidapt a try since I already use their superb Nokia phone casing and Camera casing. I’ll be reviewing a few other brands in a few weeks but this Krusell baby is the first in the line. Read on….

Sleek and Tough Case
One thing I like about Krusell products (even though it says Made in China on the inside but what isn’t nowadays ) is that the leather feels luxurious and not like those el-cheopo products out there. The case is made from high quality nappa leather, functional and tough enough to protect the sophisticated PDA electronics inside.

The superior fitting makes slotting in the DELL Axim X50 to the casing a breeze unlike some other products. There are extra pockets both for credit cards, business cards, papers as well as my 1 GB Pendrive SD memory cards. The cutouts on the casing are just in the right position and you can easily take out the stylus or activate the wireless button on the left side.

The connector on the base of your DELL Axim is also accessible but you won’t be able to use the USB base without first removing the case.

Multidapt system
The Multidapt system is very versatile and easy to use. I like the Quick Release where a stud fastens to the phone case and a variety of clips each with a socket into which the stud slips securely. You can then hang it on your belt, jump up or down and it still stays intact until you poke a pen to release the stub. Its a cinch.

Summary
This Krusell Black Leather Case for Dell Axim X50/X50v with Swivel Belt Clip is a good buy with a good leather feeling to it. The Multidapt system is also tough enough to withstand bumps on a bus ride or bicycle. The press stub is also one tough cookie and that ensures your PDA does not fall off a cliff. I’ve been using this Krusell baby for the past 2 weeks and I give it a thumbs up. Money well spent for USD 29.
