Pegasus OneNoteTaker
Howdy All! Jon Watson here, Tech Channel Editor for b5 Media. Colbert’s winging his way to Holland and asked if I’d do a post or two while he was gone. You lucky dogs!
While I lurves my gadgets, I’ll readily admit that I’m not really well connected in the gadget scene. You’ll have to bear with me while I stumble through this unfamiliar territory. Or just write a comment cussing at me. That’s OK too.
I’ve long been a fan of the idea of digital pens. I say the idea because I have yet to stumble across an elegant solution. Since I can’t lug my laptop to every impromptu meeting that occurs around my workplace, having a digital pen to quickly jot down my notes and later suck them into my computer in digital form is a holy grail.
I own an HP Digital Pen, but it requires expensive paper and the software only works in Windows (I’m a Linux guy). It’s nice because it’s about the size of a fat magic marker so it’s easy to carry around. However, the paper issue is annoying.
Today I stumbled across Pegasus’ OneNoteTaker. This baby doesn’t require any special paper (I don’t think, the web site is rather bereft of information). Rather, it has a clip sensor thingy that sits on the top of the page and a wireless pen. As you write, the clip thing records the pen’s movement and reproduces it on its little digital screen. When done writing, plug it into your computer and presto-blammo, you have a digital copy.
Now…how to get a free one….
