Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Pro

by colbert low on August 24th, 2006

Just bought my most expensive webcam - Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Pro at RM379 (USD105) from Harvey Norman at Ikano Power Centre in KL coz my wife is going somewhere far for training and I want to see her face daily. Phew ! Crazy price….I have 2 other cheap webcams at home but somehow 480 resolutions don’t cut it. The frames are choppy and its not bright enough. This new Logitech baby is bright and the frame rates are nice. With the built in software, this Logitech camera can go up to 4 megapixels interpolated while it also comes with a headset and casing to carry it around too!. Well, I’ve tried it on Yahoo Messenger and Skype’s video mode and it works better in Skype. Both the videos that came out in the 2 IM were very nice and bright. I could see my wife’s face clearly.

Funnily, after our Skype session, my wife held on to the camera and it was hot ! I surf around the internet and some people also had the same problem with it….Well as long as it does not blow up like Dell batteries, then its ok with me….Now I wished I had bought the Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Pro at Amazon since its cheaper over there…

This camera is superb but very expensive. I have bought two from Planet78 (an eBay shop) they are refurbished by Logitech and come with the case, headphones etc and work out less than half price.
Having said that I haven’t been in KL for a couple of years so dont know how your prices compare to here in UK. Spike
