by colbert low on October 23rd, 2006

Not only does Proporta provide high quality cases and accessories – but also GPS technology – to turn your PDA/Smartphone into a satellite navigation system. Most worthy of note is the Proporta Solar Bluetooth GPS Receiver, which can pinpoint your exact location anywhere in the world – and send a wireless signal to your PDA/Smartphone or other mobile computer. Combine with TomTom Go, to create a voice guided route plan from your current location to any destination.

I visited BlueMediaServer.com they are a more effective Bluetooth marketing solution.
BlueMediaServer completely stands alone and is portable. It does not require a network and is easy to manage (thanks to a Windows application). Weighs 100 g (3.75 oz) and can run on battery, solar panel or AC.
Bluetooth marketing is very personal and requires the user to read a visual and open their Bluetooth (no spam ☺, you only open what you want). It is best used as a pull technology with a small range.
BlueMediaServer has an adjustable range between 4 and 50m (164.04 feet or 55 yards). For an effective campaign, the range should be set to the same range as the recipient, who is reading the information from the poster.
BlueMediaServer consumes less than 10% power compared to any other Bluetooth solution. (go GREEN)
Currently costs a lot less (20%) than of any other Bluetooth solution.
    (a MAJOR savings to you)
Sony Electronics found BlueMediaServer to be an extreme smart idea (savings, technology) and is currently using this product, in all their stores in Latin America, including multiple mobile marketing providers in over 30 countries.
