Lenovo launches 4 new models - Lenovo Q series PC, Lenovo H series PC, Lenovo Y400 notebook PC and Lenovo Y300 notebook PC

Lenovo today unveiled a new range of consumer PCs in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia but too bad it was not the X60 Tablet PC. I woke up late and missed the launched but I have the pictures. To be sold in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, the range of notebooks and desktops delivers on Lenovo’s promise to bring innovation to more customers.

According to IDC, in Malaysia, the consumer is expected to contribute to 36 per cent of the total PC market value in 2006. In addition, Malaysia’s consumer PC market value grew at a year-on-year rate of 24 per cent in 2Q06.

“Intel is pleased to offer Lenovo a wide range of product and technology choices to address respective market and product needs,” said Debjani Ghosh, country manager of Intel Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd. “These new systems from Lenovo will provide consumers a range of exciting choices heading into the holiday shopping season from powerful new multimedia entertainment PCs to thinner and lighter laptops based on Intel’s new Core 2 Duo processors.”

The consumer product range launch comprises the Lenovo Q and H series desktops, and the Y300 and Y400 notebooks.

1. Lenovo Q series desktop PC - Aimed at consumers looking for a feature-rich multimedia entertainment PC, features include a Jog Dial which allows users to switch from viewing photographs to watching movies at the turn of the dial on select models. Digital Media Platform software – an “instant-on” multimedia function allows for quicker access to entertainment. RecordNow software helps burn data, music and video files easily into CD, VD and data CDs as well as create DVDs even while using other functions. Options for the Lenovo Q series desktop PC include 19” and 20” TFT LCD screens, integrated webcams.

2. Lenovo H series desktop PC - the Lenovo H series offers a special anti-bacterial keyboard, one Key Recovery that allows users to easily recover data in the event of crash, and improved ergonomics through features such as a “Power On” button on top of the CPU for easy access.

3. Lenovo Y300 notebook PC - The Lenovo Y300 is targeted at tech-savvy and security-conscious consumers. Key features include face recognition technology that takes a digital snapshot, extracts key features of the user’s face, and creates a digital map which is then used to log the user onto the system; light weight at 1.9kg without battery and integrated slot-in optical disc drive and 13.1” wide screen.

4. Lenovo Y400 notebook PC - The Lenovo Y400 includes enhanced sound and dedicated graphics card for entertainment. Features include a two-watt subwoofer for added bass; ‘Hidden touchpad’ technology incorporated into the palm rest for a sleek, ergonomic design ; and a Slot-in optical disc drive.

The Lenovo Q series and H series will be available in Malaysia on 15 November, 2006, and the Lenovo Y300 series and Y400 series on 15 December, 2006. Prices for the Q and H series start at RM 3349 and RM 1499, respectively. The Q and H ranges will be offered with a Maplestory starter pack, pre-paid Maplestory Lenovo card with 10,000 A cash, plush toy collectibles, limited edition Maplestory calendar and a Microsoft student Encarta Premium 2007. The Lenovo Q will also come with a Sonic Gear HS555 headset.

    Hi..im using lenovo y400 with fedora core 6..i cant find sound driver and wireless..pls help me…thanks in advance….
