iDisguise iPod Sneaky Cases

by colbert low on February 21st, 2007

Here’s a story that most of us are familiar with. Whether its getting your mobile phone or iPod stolen, its never a nice thing to happen. Just hope that this iDisguise cases don’t get too recognisable by them thieves that are pros. Hmmmm..The new cases are currently available for sale on the company’s website.

I set out to develop a line of theft deterrent cases that act as a disguise to protect portable electronic devices. The company is called iDisguise, and the first two of these cases have been released which are designed to look like candy tins while securely holding and disguising an Apple iPod Nano. The cases are meant to be used when an iPod is stored away and not being listened to, the time during which 98% of portable electronic theft occurs (U.S. Department of Justice, 2004). This is why you will not see any holes for a headphone jack or charge port.

In addition to protecting your iPod from potential theft, iDisguise simultaneously protects it from drops and scratches, whether in your car, locker, bag, desk, or dorm room. Not to mention they look cool!

The two iDisguise cases currently available are made to fit the first and second generation iPod Nano, but can also be used to conceal a first or second generation iPod shuffle. Additional cases are in development that will suit other iPod models. Each iDisguise case will be offered in limited availability with new designs and disguises being introduced regularly to prevent the recognition of any one disguise among thieves.
