Dial for directions on the phone via DIAL DIRECTIONS
Here is a new unique service available to all USA cell phone users that launched today. By simply making a free phone call, users can get instant driving directions to any destination – through a blend of breakthrough speech recognition and navigation. Right now it only works in greater metro areas of the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, and Los Angeles. It plans to expand its coverage nationwide soon.
It allows any cell phone user to get directions or find the nearest chain store location. You just call and say where you are and what you’d like to do – the service understands and texts you directions to a destination, or finds you the nearest store location, and sends it your cell phone via text message. Now ain’t that easier than sending cryptic messages or codes on your phone ?
“By dialing DIR-ECT-IONS, anybody can turn their cell phone into a ‘free GPS’. Now you can get directions anytime by calling and asking – no downloads, special phone, or web plan.” said Amit Desai, cofounder and chief product officer of Dial Directions. “DIR-ECT-IONS opens up location-based services to all cell phone users, the majority of whom want something easier and more available than today’s complicated ‘smart’ phones.“
