New BBC channel music podcasts site
I used to listen to the BBC channel on my AM radio 15 years ago. They had a cool countdown show (forgot the name) and I would tune in every night as its about 8 hours from London over here in my homeplace. Their new portal
will feature pop, folk, hip hop, jazz, indie, rhythm and blues, dance, punk and Asian music, all containing material from programmes previously broadcast on BBC Radio, with 30-second clips of music.
Radio 1’s Chart Show is the first to launch on Monday, offering clips of the hits played on the show along with the run down of the Top 40. From Saturday, November 17th, the portfolio expands to offer podcasts including Folk & Acoustic with Mike Harding from Radio 2, Stuart Maconie’s Freak Zone from 6 Music and the Asian Network Chart. 1Xtra has podcasts from a range of music genres including hip hop, dancehall and garage.
