Griffin Technology Evolve speaker system
Don’t you just hate wires? Those messy cables can sure make a house look crazy. I even saw a Martha Stewart episode the other day that taught you how to keep the mess away. Cool stuff but what’s even cooler than a pack of ice is Griffin Technology’s new Evolve Speakers for iPods.
The Evolve speaker system has a rechargeable base and two pretty large cube-shaped speakers that serves as a cool iPod base. So you don’t have to lug around for a power point on the wall when you wanna move this babies to the kitchen or balcony. The estimated life of this Lithium-Ion batteries is about 10 hours before you need to charge them. Each of this speakers has its own on/off switch, and an automatic sleep mode to conserve battery charge when not in use. Coming with its own spiffy remote control, you can get more technical specs at the Evolve website and get ready to dish out $300.

It works rather well.
I use it when I am working the the back yard or in the garage.
My only concern is the longevity of the battery.
Lithium batteries wear out eventually and the speakers are sealed. I think this means that after about 3-4 hundred charge/discharge cycles you won’t be able to use the speakers without the charging base

For speakers, I would prefer the quality of the sound. I am not sure about this Evolve quality and I am not saying that it is bad. But between Evolve and Bose, I believe we know the answer. For the same price, I can get a wired Bose which I would definitely prefer to have. I still think that wireless speakers are expensive.
