Asus Eee PC 2.0 debuts at CES 2008
Looks like Asus will debut the new improved Eee PC at next week’s CES 2008 in Las Vegas. It should sport a bigger 9inch screen and come with WiMax wireless broadband connectivity. The current Asus Eee PC has a 7 inch display which may prove to be too small for Windows users. Another rumoured upgrade is a 8GB Flash SSD instead of the current 4GB that may be a tad too small for a usual collection of MP3s.
Some have touted the Asus Eee PC to be a innovative computer as it has preloaded many different applications to allow the user to many different apps from the first boot. Open Office and Skype are pre-loaded. There are links to the Google Applications, instant messaging, e-mail and Internet radio applications.

It’s not so much a bigger screen it needs (although that would of course be nice), it’s simply higher res. PDAs and phones give almost the same res on a 2.4 - 3″ screen for goodness sake, and quite legibly too! 800×600, or 1024×768 anyone?

It is the price that is really interesting. At about £200 you get a fairly decent gadget. I’d prefer getting this just to read ebooks rather than a Kindle!
